About:

Melissa currently works at the NHS as a medical secretary and has spent years working within the medical profession both in general practices and hospitals. She is an avid concert goer, traveling around the UK and further afield in pursuit of the ultimate gig, and is particularly proud of her family’s impromptu karaoke performances around the BBQ pit—Bohemian Rhapsody is a definite hit! She’s also an avid storyteller, mainly horror based–(it’s always the quiet ones, isn’t it?) and lives in Surrey, UK.

Melissa Woodley was good enough to share a few more details about herself:

🎶  I have had quite a few theme songs throughout my life, ranging from “I don’t Care” by Fall Out Boy, to “She’s all I wanna be” by Tate McRae, and “Teenagers” by My Chemical Romance (ahh yes—the band that first got me really interested in music). So, I would say the theme song to my life is… constantly changing!

🦥 I would love to be able to tell you that my spirit animal is something exciting, but I’m afraid I’m going to have to admit, it would most likely be a sloth—quite small, slow at moving and very sleepy (did you know they sleep up to 20 hours a day?!) Now… if only that was acceptable for humans… I live in hope.

📚The Potter-head in me will always recommend that you should read the Harry Potter series, but the adult in me would recommend “Odd Thomas” by Dean Koontz; definitely my sort of book.

The next book on my “to read” list is the complete collection of Grimm’s Fairy Tales I was recently given by my parents—I will let you know what I think!

👩🏻‍🏫  There was a time when I was still at school when I wanted to be a primary school teacher, or a teaching assistant—I even did my Year 10 work experience at my old Primary School, and I loved every second of it—I just didn’t have the confidence to push myself to do it. So, in a different life, I like to think I would be following that path.

🏝 If I was being sent to a desert island, I would be taking writing materials, my CD collection, and the loudest speakers I could find—after all, no-one else will be able to hear my (somewhat acquired) music tastes on this island! Who needs food and water, eh?!
